"For those of you who know Whidbey Island, you're probably aware that Langley is the small, quaint, but vibrant hub on the south side of the that isle. What you may not know, is that centrally located on its main street of cute shops, antique, curio, and book stores is one of the very best jewelery stores to be found anywhere in this neck of the woods.  Oh, there are other jewelry stores in Whidbey and even in Langely, and they also have some nice pieces.  But if you really want something special (and yet very reasonably priced) in mind, Celtic Viking Jewelry is matchless! 

While it's certainly not the largest jewelry store around, they have fantastic personalized service, a real artisan in Bret Christensen -- the owner -- and a lot of pride in their work.  That includes design, craftsmanship, honest appraisals, and customer service.  For me, most importantly, Bret listens and cares about pleasing you.  He'll take the time and make the effort to create a piece to meet your vision and expectations.  He'll keep you informed and answer your questions.  In other words, he'll really work with you and establish a relationship so that you will return and spread the word.  In addition to original designs he also has a variety of other lovely pieces already made and worth considering, as well as interesting items in addition to just jewlery.  Obviously, I am a happy customer and my wife and I have returned there several times to purchase gifts for each other, friends, and family members.  Nope, I'm not getting paid for this  endorsement but I do want to see Bret thrive at Celtic Viking Jewlery.  He and his family help make Whidbey the kind of place worth visiting more than once."

Ed. note: This was a 2” long violin specially made from solid gold sheet using the same techniques in the construction of a real violin. The strings were fashioned from white gold, attached with turning thumbscrews. The bow was used as a pendant holder. Interesting, when I put this piece in the untrasonic cleaning machine, the high frequency sound waves use to clean jewelry reverberated causing the violin to sing.  – Bret Christensen
